As Submitted by Irene Jardine:
On July 17th, 2008 the P&A and Basic Chemicals Safe Team organized an evening river cruise on the Duc D’Orleans. Each year the Safe Team chooses a local organization which benefits the Sarnia Lambton community to donate the proceeds of the event too.
Prior to departure an OBS safety presentation was given by Irene Jardine, following which Jim Snyder, Safety Advisor for P&A and Basic Chemicals at the Sarnia Imperial Oil site recognized the new CCGA SAR unit covering lower Lake Huron and the St Clair River 'PointSAR'. Jamie Kerwin unit leader and crew members were in attendance with their vessel a Zodiac 590 Hurricane.

Friday November 14, 2008 was Belleville’s eighth annual night time Santa Clause Parade and Quinte Rescue’s first. This great annual tradition for families in the Quinte Region was truly blessed by Mother Nature. The mild temperatures allowed thousands of parade goers to line the route and witness the magic of thousands of lights, and great holiday tunes.
